The Flanders AI Research Program was created to advance strategic AI research while accelerating the successful adoption of AI in Flanders. Beyond scientific publications and research breakthroughs, FAIR aims to ensure that knowledge, technologies and expertise find their way into practical applications, innovation projects and new economic opportunities.

Research adoption can take many forms. Some results are translated into demonstrators, toolboxes or datasets. Others evolve into collaborative innovation projects, attract public funding, support industrial innovation or provide the foundation for new ventures. FAIR actively supports these pathways by helping organizations and researchers connect, collaborate and build on existing research results.
