Research

The applications reflect a common need:

Human-centered AI

We expect AI systems to be trustworthy and easy to interact with.

Sustainable AI

There is a need for AI systems (hardware and software) that are energy-efficient and performant.

Data-efficient AI

There is a need for AI systems that require only a limited amount of data. Combining data with domain knowledge and (human) expertise makes these systems performant.

Demonstrate

We illustrate the results of the research in conceptual demonstrators.

Goal of the demonstrators
  1. Inspire potential users to implement the research results in their innovation tracks and translate them to their own business needs and business models.
  2. Steer research activities toward the long-term needs of the application domains.

Focus on partnerships

The interaction between knowledge centers, companies, organizations, and the government is crucial for the development of AI innovations in Flanders.
