Imec vzw (“imec”), is the party responsible for the processing activities on this website.

Imec values your privacy and ensures it processes your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 216/679.

The Flanders AI Research Program (“Vlaams AI Onderzoeksprogramma”) is part of the Flanders AI Impulse Program (“Vlaams AI beleidsplan”) approved by the Flemish government (VR 2019 2203 DOC 0318/1QUATER and VR 2019 2806 DOC.0952/1BIS).The responsibility for the coordination of the Flanders AI Research Program is assigned to imec.

Why we collect your data?

  • You have a question or suggestion that you would like to share with us via the contact form.
  • If you complete the contact form on our website, we will process your personal data to be able to handle and register your questions and to provide you with a proper answer.
  • You are interested in the newsletter of the Flanders AI Research Program.

By registering for our newsletter, we will use the personal data you share with us to keep you informed of our activities and services.

What data do we collect?

We gather the following personal data about you:

  • identification data, such as your name, etc
  • Contact information, such as address, email, telephone, etc
  • Your company name and job title
  • Your AI topics of interest

Who will have access to your personal data?

Our own employees, as well as employees acting on our behalf, only if they require such access for the purposes described.

In order to handle your question and provide you with a proper answer, Imec can forward your question or suggestion to third parties within the AI Research Program if you gave consent for this: 1/ research partners: KU Leuven, UGent, VUBrussel, UAntwerpen, UHasselt, imec, VIB, VITO, Flanders Make, Sirris and 2/ organisations: Agoria and VOKA, 3/ EWI, VLAIO.

Imec will not share your personal data with any third parties, except the ones mentioned above, unless this is necessary to provide you with the services you have requested via the website, e.g. mail providers to send out the newsletters.

We only transfer your personal information to third parties outside the EU when this is necessary to meet our obligations and provide our services. Third parties are always screened to ensure they handle personal information properly and necessary safeguards are in place to ensure compliance with articles article 44 – article 50 of the GDPR.

Legal ground for processing your personal data

We collect your personal data under the lawful basis of consent. By completing your personal details in the contact form or registration form, you give us consent to process your personal data. You always have the right to retract your consent. When you withdraw your consent, we will delete your personal data from our databases.

Your rights

During processing activities with regards to your personal data, you will have following rights:

  • You have the right at all times to access your personal data
  • You have the right to correct your personal data
  • You have the right to delete your personal data.

Technical and organizational measures and retention period

Imec has implemented various technical and organizational measures to ensure your information is protected against unauthorized access and non-authorized modification, publication or removal.

Your personal data will be stored for up to 5 years after the last interaction.
