Funding pathways for AI innovation

Many organizations are interested in building on AI research but are uncertain which funding instruments, collaboration models or innovation programs best fit their objectives. FAIR helps organizations navigate this landscape by connecting them with relevant expertise, collaborators and public funding opportunities.

As a research program, FAIR does not administer funding instruments itself. Instead, we work alongside organizations such as VLAIO, NCP Flanders and other innovation actors to help organizations identify suitable opportunities and build strong projects around AI research and innovation.

Funding opportunities exist at multiple levels, ranging from regional innovation instruments in Flanders to Belgian cross-regional initiatives and large-scale European programs. The appropriate route depends on the maturity of the idea, the scope of collaboration and the intended impact.
